Veterans Day will be celebrated this year at Greene County High School. On Thursday, Nov. 11, the student council welcomes all veterans to gather at 7:30 am in Ram Restaurant for coffee and pastries. Veterans should enter the north-main entrance where members of the student council will be at the doors as greeters. These students will assist veterans inside if needed.
A Veterans Day celebration in the auditorium will follow the light, continental breakfast. This program will begin at 8:30 am and will include a local veteran as keynote speaker, music performed by students at GCHS, patriotic poems, and videos.
After the assembly, all veterans are invited to stay and watch a Veterans Day video designed specially for veterans. “We hope many veterans will join us for a day of honoring their sacrifices for our country,” a student council spokesperson said.
